The RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival in Bell Buckle, Tennessee
I love being from the South—Middle Tennessee, to be specific. Sweet tea and fireflies fill warm spring evenings that friends and family spend lounging on the porch. It’s a slower, beautiful time. It’s also a time where visitors flood into the tiny town of Bell Buckle, TN, for family-friendly fun at the RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival.
The RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival
The RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival is a salute to Royal Crown Cola and Moon Pies. The festivities kick off on Saturday—always the 3rd one in June—with a 10K race, followed by a parade, RC Cola and Moon Pie show, cloggers, and competitions. There are also plenty of vendors and local shops where you’ll find artwork, antiques, and delicious Southern food.
You don’t want to miss this fun!
The original Moon Pie is a chocolate, graham cracker, and marshmallow treat that has been popular in the South for years. Today, there are quite a few fun flavors of Moon Pies—vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana, salted caramel, lemon, and orange!
Bell Buckle Cafe
While you’re in Bell Buckle, make plans to eat lunch at the charming, historic Bell Buckle Cafe. I love making a meal out of the sides—fried okra, turnip greens, white beans and ham—along with my favorite thing on the menu, corn nuggets!
